The course will be instructed by David Gregor. Prior to joining Advanced GunWorks David served as Master Gunsmith for the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team as well as U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six. David conducted armorer training courses for law enforcement, military units, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He will be assisted by gunsmith Jerry Simmons fromAdvanced GunWorks. Course Description
The AR-15 armorer course is designed to enable the student to be self-sufficient in supporting the continued operation of the AR-15 weapon system. Students will learn complete disassembly and reassembly, along with diagnosing, repairing and preventing problems and malfunctions.
With the exception of barrel removal, the student will dissemble and reassemble their personal rifle. Upgrades provided by the student can be installed excluding the following:
- items that require machine work
- barrels
- handguards
Barrel removal and headspacing will be demonstrated on a rifle provided by the instructor.
Handout materials will be supplied during the class. Students will be give the opportunity to purchase a AR-15 armorer toolkit as well as a spare parts kit.

Course Deadline and Equipment Ordering
Students must be registered and paid by October 15, 2011. Space is limited to twenty students on a first come, first served basis. Registered students will be given the opportunity to purchase the armorers toolkit and spare parts kit. The deadline for registered students to order the armorer toolkit and spare parts kit is October 15, 2011. Cost of the armorer kit is $95 and the spare parts kit is $15.

CHL Training Course
This course provides the classroom training and firearm qualification needed to obtain a Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL). Our instructors are certified in the State of Texas and have many years of experience training others in the proper safety and utilization of firearms. The professionally developed curriculum utilizes multiple training aides and techniques to help attendees not only learn the material, but retain the content for future use.

Course Objectives:
Train and qualify attendees for submission of the Texas Concealed Handgun License application. Upon completion, attendees will have the following materials required to send in their application:
- Instruction certification for completed classroom curriculum and qualification test
- Texas Department of Public Safety CHL Application
- Texas Department of Public Safety and FBI approved fingerprint cards
- Notarized Affidavits
- Two (2) passport photographs
Course Prerequisites:
- Basic proficiency with a handgun
CHL and CHL Renewal courses are not intended to train attendees how to shoot. The qualification test portion of the course is required by the State of Texas to demonstrate the ability to safely and properly handle and shoot a handgun—not to teach it.

- 10 hours of combined classroom instruction and qualification testing

This price does not include the Texas Department of Public Safety processing fee of $140.00

Course Curriculum:
- Concealed handgun license requirements and restrictions
- Non-violent dispute resolution
- Use of force and contact with law enforcement
- Safe storage and handling of firearms
- Range safety and basic handgun marksmanship
- Maintenance and cleaning of a handgun
- Pertinent sections of the law relating to weapons, firearms and carrying
- Handgun nomenclature and operation (revolvers and semi-automatic pistols)
- Written examination
Qualification Test Requirements (as dictated by the Texas Department of Public Safety):
- Total of 50 rounds fired at the B-27 target (45” high x 24” wide)
- Score of 175 out of 250 possible points (70 percent) required to pass
- Shooting stance from the ready position where firearm is already in a position to fire
- No holster shooting or shooting from concealed position is required
- Scoring for course of fire:
- 3 Yard Line – 20 Rounds
- 1 round in 2 seconds, 5 times (5 rounds total)
- 2 rounds in 3 seconds, 5 times (10 rounds total)
- 5 rounds in 10 seconds, 1 time (5 rounds total)
- 7 Yard Line – 20 Rounds
- 5 rounds in 10 seconds, 1 time (5 rounds total)
- 2 rounds in 4 seconds, 1 time (2 rounds total)
- 3 rounds in 6 seconds, 1 time (3 rounds total)
- 1 round in 3 seconds, 5 times (5 rounds total)
- 5 rounds in 15 seconds, 1 time (5 rounds total)
- 15 Yard Line – 10 Rounds
- 2 rounds in 6 seconds, 1 time (2 rounds total)
- 3 rounds in 9 seconds, 1 time (3 rounds total)
- 5 rounds in 15 seconds, 1 time (5 rounds total)
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own handgun to use for qualification on the range; however, a handgun will not be required for the classroom portion of the course. If you do not have a handgun, we can provide one for you during the qualification test. Ammunition will be available for a nominal fee.
