Dave Dickson
CEO and Co-founder
Dave has more than 15 years of business experience in the financial services and entrepreneur areas. He began his career starting an Internet marketing firm in Columbus, Ohio, in the early 1990s. Dave was a recognized advisor/planner with Lincoln Financial Advisors, Dallas prior to founding and managing DA Management Group, LLC. In 2004 Dave merged DA with Elevation Financial Inc., which he co-founded along with other investment professionals.
Dave spun off into Elevation Capital Partners, LLC. in 2005 and still runs it as a successful Investment Bank conducting private equity and debt raises for small companies. Dave founded Advanced GunWorks, LLC with Jerry Simmons to help shooting enthusiasts get the absolute most out of their firearms through customization. No two shooters are the same; nor should their guns be.
Jerry Simmons
President & Co-Founder
Learning attention to detail and discipline, Jerry served as an Aircraft Armaments Systems Specialist in the Air Force for almost 15 years. He left the service in 1999 to focus on his family and help in a private, family-owned business. In 2003, he decided to go back to school and make his hobby a profession. In 2004 Jerry graduated from the Colorado School of Trades and worked as a gunsmith for Scheels All Sports in Des Moines, Iowa.
Since AGW opened in January 2007, Jerry has been helping the gun enthusiasts right here in North Texas.
David M. Gregor
Gunsmith & Partner
David brings more than 25 years of experience in gunsmithing to Advanced GunWorks. Prior to joining the Advanced GunWorks team, he served as Master Gunsmith for the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) and Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) in Quantico, Va. and for the U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six.
David also served as chief gunsmith for the Department of Energy (DOE) Central Training Academy, where he designed, wrote and taught the Armorer Training Course for the DOE. David has conducted armorer-training courses for local and state law enforcement, Naval SEAL Team Units, the U.S. Air Force, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other governmental agencies. He has also served as president of Innovative Weaponry, Inc. and Griffon USA, Inc.
David has been trained at the Pennsylvania Gunsmith School and the FBI Academy. He has attained factory certification from the following manufacturers: Remington, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Sig-Sauer and Heckler & Koch.
Michael S. Marte
Vice President of Range Operations
With an expertise in commercial construction as well as extensive military training, Michael serves an invaluable role in our organization. Michael has more than 13 years of experience in commercial construction project management. During this period, he has worked as an owner’s representative, as a project manager for some of the largest general contractors in the nation and as a self-employed general contractor licensed in five states. Michael has worked in virtually every major city in the country, managing multiple projects simultaneously ranging in value from $100,000 to $10.5 million.
Michael utilizes his military experience to develop and implement our range safety and operations procedures. Michael’s first three of six years in the United States Army were spent in the 82nd Airborne Division. After being promoted to the rank of sergeant and certified as a range safety officer, jumpmaster and qualifying as an expert marksman with a rifle, pistol and shotgun, Michael attended the XVIII Airborne Corps Sniper School.
As the honor graduate of his sniper school class, Michael accepted an opportunity to work as a sniper in the Army’s Special Forces Groups (Green Berets). During his military career Michael has set up and run countless ranges and trained a wide variety of personnel in both basic and advanced marksmanship, including Army reservists, Army National Guardsmen, Army ROTC Cadets, soldiers from the Panamanian Defense Force and Contras in Honduras.
